The JazzKids took part in 2 vocal categories (World Music and Jazz) and 2 dance categories (Song and Dance as well as Jazz) for WCOPA for small group contestants aged 11 to 15. More than 500 contestants from 40 countries fought it out in a battle of talent over 7 grueling days. 

JazzKids was started by Precious Entertainment's Artistic Director Kuo Po, 4 years ago. The children had been training hard for months to prepare to compete with the other 39 other nations' competitors. 

Also National Director of Singapore for WCOPA, Kuo Po said: " The JazzKIds have been performing in many concert venues, hotel functions, corporate events, performing arts festivals etc in and around Singapore. It was time for us to dip our toes into a bigger pool and see how our Singapore talents would fare, when pitted against other fellow performers from around the world. In this instance, they have acquitted themselves well to win Gold medals in all the 4 categories they took part in. We were pitted against some very strong contenders e.g. the ones from Guatemala, Ireland, Jamaica etc were all outstanding. To go to Los Angeles, the heart of the entertainment industry, to compete and take gold in all the categories, the JazzKids have really done Singapore proud."

Besides the young talent group, 3 adult artistes also represented Singapore in the competition: seasoned theatre practitioners Jay Españo and Judee Tan as well as newcomer Nicole Verghese. Judee Tan was one of only 5 winners amongst hundreds of contenders from around the world, to walk away with the coveted scholarship of USD10,000 from the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. Like Jay and the JazzKids, she also won the Industry Award, one of the highest accolades which accords them recognition by the illustrious panel of judges, that they are of a standard high enough to work in the demanding entertainment industry of Hollywood.   

The JazzKids also won 4 "Champion of the World" plaques, which recognizes them as the best in the entire Junior categories aged 11 to 15.
